If you applied for your visa outside the UK, please only upload a copy of your visa (sticker in your passport) after you arrive in the UK. When you arrive in the UK, make sure you do not use the e-gates but instead see a UK Border Force officer to validate your entry as a student. You should receive an entry date stamp in your passport that we require to see. If you do not receive the stamp, please retain copies of your flight tickets/boarding pass.
If you are due a BRP card, you can collect it from the Post Office in the Thistle Centre in Stirling when it is available. You do not have to wait for the BRP to complete this first part of this process. You will be required to complete the visa checklist again once you have your BRP.
If you submitted your application in the UK, you can complete the visa checklist as soon as you receive your BRP card or immigration permission.
The Student Immigration Team will check the documents you upload as part of the online enrolment process. There is no requirement to physically present documents.
EEA & Swiss citizens may not receive a physical visa in their passport or BRP. You should have a letter from the Home Office (UKVI) confirming that you have been granted immigration permission and details will be held digitally. You can share this information with the University by obtaining and providing us with your digital share code.

Once you have arrived and received the stamp in your passport, you can complete this visa checklist. Please upload a scanned colour copy of your entry stamp. Please add 6 months to the date on the stamp when calculating the visa end date.
Please do not pass through via the e-Gates at the airport immigration control. You must have your passport stamped with the correct immigration entry stamp to allow you to study in the UK for up to 6 months. However, if you do enter via the e-gates and do not receive the entry stamp, please enter the date you arrived in the UK, add six months to get the end date and enter 'e-Gates' for the visa/vaf number. You should then upload a copy of your boarding pass instead of the stamp. We will contact you if we require any further evidence.
